We start with how the site runs. Entries and exits, points of sale, loading docks, yards, plant, car parks, and the places where incidents have happened before. Each camera position has a job, and the security cameras commercial sites need are chosen for it. Some positions need the resolution to identify a face or a plate at distance. Some need to work in poor light. Some sit in weather, dust or within reach of a hand and need a housing rated for it.
Outdoor positions carry IP66 or IP67 weather sealing, IK10 impact resistance where tampering is a risk, and corrosion-resistant housings on coastal and industrial sites. Recording and retention are set to the site, typically 30 days, with longer retention calculated and added where compliance, insurance or the nature of the business calls for it. Where a project specifies NDAA-compliant equipment or sits inside an ISO 27001 environment, we specify equipment that meets those standards.
The camera type follows the position, and the commercial CCTV cameras on one site are rarely all the same model.
Commercial surveillance cameras are specified to the scale and conditions of the site, and the commercial CCTV security cameras we install and service come from Hanwha Vision, Axis Communications, Dahua, Avigilon and Ajax. Hanwha Vision for sites that want the AI on the camera, a documented cybersecurity record and a supply chain that stands up to procurement scrutiny. Axis Communications where imaging in difficult light and open standards matter. Dahua where full-colour night detail and active deterrence are the priority. Avigilon for enterprise sites that standardise on its platform. Ajax where cameras and the alarm run as one wireless system with one app.

Where a commercial camera security system records decides how the footage can be used.
Most sites run an NVR camera system, a network video recorder on site, sized to the camera count and the retention period, with encrypted remote access from the app and the desktop.
Larger commercial security camera systems and multi-site operations run a video management system on a server, which adds search, analytics and user permissions across every camera and every site.
Cloud CCTV and hybrid platforms record to the cloud, or to the cloud and the site together, and suit businesses that want footage held off the premises or managed from a central office.
All of them are available. Storage is calculated from resolution, frame rate, camera count and retention, so the system holds the days of footage the business needs before it overwrites. Live and recorded footage is available on a phone, a tablet and a desktop on every platform we install, with access set per user.
Business security cameras work best as part of the security system, and commercial CCTV security systems are specified that way from the start.
Integration happens in one of two ways.
On a single-vendor platform such as Ajax, the cameras, alarm and automation share one app, so an alarm event pulls up the footage that goes with it.
On a larger site, the video management system brings alarm and door events into the video timeline, so an operator or a manager sees the event, the footage and the door record together.
We specify commercial security systems with the integration decided up front, so cameras, alarm and access control are one system with one point of accountability.
We install and support Wisenet WAVE and BLAZE from Hanwha Vision, Milestone XProtect and AXIS Camera Station Pro, matched to the site.
WAVE puts the Wisenet cameras’ own analytics on one screen, so alarms are raised on classified objects and footage can be searched by what is in it.
BLAZE is Hanwha’s hybrid AI platform for sites that want cloud and on-site management together, with similarity search that follows the same person across cameras.
XProtect is the open enterprise platform. It runs one interface across sites and camera brands, its forensic search finds a person, vehicle or plate in minutes, and its evidence handling stays verifiable when footage goes to police or insurers.
AXIS Camera Station Pro runs Axis systems end to end with the same search and export discipline.

AI video analytics detect people and vehicles where they should not be, count foot traffic and flag the events that matter in hours of routine footage.

Commercial CCTV installation is licensed trade work, and it shows on the day. Cabling is installed and terminated to a high standard of workmanship, mounts are chosen to survive the weather, networks are configured for reliability, and commissioning proves every camera does its job before handover. Our installers are Alltronic technicians, licensed under Security Licence 4226262, and a police check is part of holding that licence. Every technician also holds a Blue Card. CCTV maintenance and CCTV servicing are handled by our own service department for the commercial camera systems we install, and in many cases we take over systems installed by others once we have inspected them. Commercial security cameras, or CCTV for business, are camera systems specified for business premises: higher resolution and low-light performance than consumer cameras, housings rated for weather and tampering, recording to a network video recorder or video management system, and retention set to the business’s compliance and insurance needs.
The one specified for the position. A dusty yard needs a different camera from a dark loading dock, and both need something different from an office reception. Resolution, lens, low-light performance, housing and analytics are set per position at the site inspection, and the footage section above shows what the result looks like day and night.
The cost is set by camera count, the resolution and low-light performance each position needs, cabling runs, recorder and storage capacity, and whether a video management system or analytics are part of the scope. Every commercial CCTV system is quoted from a site inspection, at no obligation.
Enough to cover every entry, every point of sale or handover, and the places incidents happen, with no blind spot between them. A small shop may need four. A warehouse with a yard may need thirty. The site inspection sets the number from the site and places each camera to cover what matters.
There is no single retention period set for businesses. Retention is set to your requirements: typically 30 days for commercial sites, with longer retention calculated and added where compliance, insurance or the business demands it.

A video management system adds search that finds a person, vehicle or number plate in minutes, analytics that detect and verify events as they happen, one interface across sites and camera brands, and user permissions and audit trails for who viewed and exported footage. For many businesses an NVR with remote access is the right fit, and the site inspection works out which.
Signage at entrances telling people that cameras are recording is standard practice on commercial sites, a strong deterrent in its own right, and part of every system we install.
