A warehouse is a set of places with different risks, and a warehouse security system is designed place by place. Loading docks and roller doors are where stock and vehicles meet, so they carry camera coverage that captures plates and faces, door contacts on every roller door, and access control on the personnel doors beside them. Racking aisles and dispatch areas need cameras positioned for the height and the traffic, with analytics that tell a forklift from a person. High-value cages, tool stores and comms rooms get their own access control and their own alarm zone. Yards, fuel, plant and heavy equipment hold the assets that stay outdoors, so they carry perimeter detection and cameras rated for the weather, programmed as detectors on the alarm system. Offices, staff entries and car parks round out the site. We walk every one of these with you at the site assessment, and the specification follows what we find. This is how we approach every commercial security system, on a site large enough that the design has to be right the first time.
Everything below is specified, installed, monitored and maintained by our team. Most warehouse sites take four or five of these; large distribution and manufacturing sites take all of them on one platform.

Analytics that separate people from vehicles, flag loitering and line crossing, and search footage by event and in natural language. Across yards and long approaches the cameras are programmed as detectors on the alarm system, so a camera event triggers the alarm like any other zone.
Thermal cameras from Dahua, Hanwha, Avigilon and Axis detect movement across dark yards, fence lines and stockpiles where a standard camera sees nothing, and low-light cameras cover docks and approaches after hours.
External beams, outdoor detectors and fence-line detection as zones on the alarm system, reporting to the same control room as the internal detectors.

On a warehouse the installation is the product. The distances are long, the mounting heights are high, and forklifts, trucks and weather work on everything from the day it goes in. A system that is still working in year five was installed properly in year one, and this is where most of our work on a large site actually goes. Cable runs are planned around dock doors and forklift routes and carried on tray, catenary and conduit, sealed where they pass through walls and labelled at both ends. Cameras and detectors are mounted to structure at heights that survive stock movement, in housings and brackets chosen for dust, heat and outdoor exposure. Every camera view, detector and door is tested and signed off at commissioning, and the site is handed over with as-built documentation and trained staff. The Alltronic team also delivers full electrical and data services, with licensed electricians, data cablers and security technicians working on the same site for one contractor.
Scheduled maintenance keeps the system reporting: servicing intervals set to the site, battery replacement, camera cleaning and re-aiming, firmware, communication tests and recorder health checks, with faults picked up early. We install and maintain compliant systems that perform.
Industrial CCTV security systems are specified for outdoor, dusty and high-traffic conditions. Cameras on docks, yards and plant carry weather and dust ratings for outdoor and dirty environments, and the enclosures and mounts are chosen for the location, from a dispatch canopy to a fence post in full sun. Sites this size need long cable runs, so we design the network for them: Power over Ethernet within its distance limits, fibre between buildings, and switching sized for the camera count, all installed under our own electrical and data licences. Recording is designed to the retention the business needs, with storage sized for continuous recording across every camera and redundancy where the footage matters for compliance. Analytics run on the cameras or the recorder to filter false alarms, detect line crossing and loitering, count vehicles and search footage by event. The camera platforms we install and service are Hanwha Vision, Axis Communications, Dahua, Avigilon and Ajax, chosen for the site’s scale and conditions, and industrial security camera systems from all five run alongside the alarm and access control. Warehouses run on a changing workforce. Access control gives each person the right doors at the right hours, with mobile credentials issued and revoked from a phone, cards and PINs where the site prefers them, and an audit trail of every entry. Dock personnel doors, cages, tool stores and comms rooms are the usual controlled doors on a warehouse, and Inner Range runs access control, intrusion and automation as one system for sites that want them together. At the gate the vehicle becomes the credential: ANPR cameras read the plate, open the boom for authorised vehicles and store every arrival with its vision, which is covered in full on our licence plate recognition page. A warehouse alarm system is zoned to the building: roller-door and door contacts on every entry, detection specified for large floors and racking, separate areas for dispatch, offices and stores so part of the site works while the rest is armed, and perimeter detection outside it. Every commercial alarm we install reports to an A1 graded control room 24 hours a day over 4G, independent of the site’s internet, and the operators work the site’s response plan: verify, call key-holders, dispatch a patrol, escalate to police. With camera monitoring the control room checks the footage before a patrol is committed, which on a large site with yards and after-hours traffic is the difference between a real response and a wasted callout. On a manufacturing or industrial site, security sits alongside plant, heavy vehicles and shift work, and it has to be designed around all three. Perimeter detection and yard cameras cover raw materials, finished goods and vehicles outside the building. Access control restricts hazardous and high-value areas to the people trained and authorised to be in them. Cameras on production lines, plant rooms and tool stores serve security and incident review. Industrial alarm systems are zoned so the rest of the plant stays armed while a night shift runs on one line. Many warehouse and industrial operators run more than one facility, often across several states. We design warehouse security systems as one system across all of them: one user database for access control, one set of alarm rules and response plans, one camera platform a head office can view, and one point of contact. Interstate sites are serviced through our established national network, with the design, programming and monitoring held in Brisbane.
Customs-controlled logistics, freight, and sites handling sensitive goods or information carry requirements that the security system has to support: controlled and audited access, monitored perimeters, camera coverage of handling areas and retained footage. We design access control and surveillance to the client’s compliance framework, whether that is a customs licence condition or the physical security controls of a standard like ISO 27001, and we hand over the documentation the audit will ask for. The cameras that protect the site after hours are the same cameras that answer questions during the day. Footage of a dock shows what was loaded and when a dispute arises over a delivery. Cameras over forklift routes and pedestrian crossings support workplace health and safety, from exclusion zones to incident review. Analytics can count vehicles at the gate and flag a door left open. Retention and who can view what are set with you at commissioning, so the system holds what the business needs and no more.
The same licensed team that installs the security system does the electrical, data and audio visual work a warehouse needs, under Electrical Licence 84729 and Security Licence 4226262. Our electricians handle high-bay LED lighting and lighting upgrades, switchboards and three-phase supply for plant, forklift and EV charging, emergency and exit lighting, and thermal imaging of switchboards. Some sites carry requirements the security system has to meet before it does anything else: secure customs freight facilities like DAI Post’s at Murarrie and Mansfield, and Help Enterprises’ packaging facility at Acacia Ridge, where the operational and personal information on site sets the standard for access control, camera coverage and retention. Some are networks of sites. Signet’s manufacturing and distribution sites run from Brisbane north to Townsville and through to Melbourne on one system, and Whites Group’s warehouses run from Brisbane to Perth the same way, with the design and monitoring held in Brisbane and service delivered nationally.

There is no single camera; a warehouse uses several types in different places. Wide-area and PTZ cameras cover floors and aisles, fixed cameras with analytics cover docks and dispatch where plates and faces matter, low-light and thermal cameras cover yards and fence lines after dark, and weather-rated housings go wherever a camera is outdoors or in dust. The platform matters as much as the camera: Hanwha, Axis, Dahua, Avigilon and Ajax all give a warehouse the analytics, recording and remote viewing it needs, and we specify the mix from the site.
The site moves the figure most: the number of cameras and their positions, the alarm zones and detector types, how many doors and gates carry access control, whether ANPR or thermal is needed, cable distances and building construction, and the level of monitoring. A single-building warehouse with cameras, a zoned alarm and monitoring sits at one end and a multi-site integrated platform at the other. We scope and price the whole system from a site assessment.
We highly recommend it. A warehouse holds a lot of value in one building and sits empty for long stretches, so an alarm that nobody acts on does very little. Every commercial alarm we install can report to A1 grade monitoring, where a trained operator handles an after hours activation to the site’s response plan, and your staff are spared attending site for every alarm. Camera monitoring adds a footage check before a patrol is dispatched, and the app gives managers their own view of the site.
Long enough to cover the time it takes a problem to surface, which for most warehouses means the storage is sized to hold a month or more across every camera. Insurance, customs and contract requirements can set a longer period, and we size the recorder and its redundancy to the retention the business decides on at commissioning.
Yes. The higher-specification cameras we install from Hanwha, Axis, Dahua and Avigilon have excellent night vision, thermal cameras detect movement across dark yards, fence lines and stockpiles by heat, and analytics separate a person from a vehicle or an animal. On our systems these cameras are programmed as detectors on the alarm, so a person in the yard after hours triggers the alarm and the monitoring response like any other zone. Yes. Personnel doors beside dock doors take card, PIN or mobile credentials, dock roller doors carry contacts on the alarm system, and ANPR at the gate controls which vehicles reach the dock at all. The access record, the door state and the footage of the dock line up on the same platform.
