Open sites are detected at the boundary rather than at a door. Outdoor detectors with dual-curtain sensing distinguish a person crossing a line from wind, vegetation and passing traffic, and the detection zone is set to the site’s actual boundary rather than a standard pattern.
Cross-line detection suits the site’s high-risk points: the boundary itself, material and plant compounds, substation and switchboard enclosures, and scaffolding. Scaffolding is worth particular attention. It is the most accessible route onto a partially built structure, it changes as the build rises, and unauthorised access to it is both a security exposure and a fall risk. Ajax outdoor detection is the platform we most often deploy on construction sites: wireless, multi-year battery life, and repositionable as the scaffold is struck and re-erected, without cabling.
Video data analytics increases visibility across a busy site. Rather than footage reviewed after the fact, the cameras are constantly watching and notifying: events as they happen, and developing situations before they become incidents. It supports real-time management of a site too large and too active for line of sight alone.

Scheduled patrols are usually worth running alongside alarm response on a construction site. Patrol visits check gates, site access points, compounds and material storage, with each visit logged, and the timing varied so the pattern cannot be predicted.
