Keeping a security system reliable comes down to two things: making sure we hold the right details for your site, and making sure the equipment is checked and serviced on a sensible schedule. This page covers both, for homes and businesses monitored or serviced by Alltronic.

When your alarm activates, our monitoring centre acts on the information we hold for your site. If that information is out of date, response is slower and callouts can be wasted. Please review the following whenever something changes, and at least once a year.
We hold a list of people we can call when your alarm activates, in the order you want them called. Each contact needs a current phone number and should be someone who can attend the site or make decisions about it. Tell us as soon as a keyholder leaves, changes their number, or should no longer be contacted.
A typical call order looks like this:
A minimum of two contacts is recommended. A third is preferred, so that leave, travel and changed numbers do not leave your site without a reachable keyholder.
Your response instructions tell our monitoring centre what to do when an activation comes in: who to call, whether to dispatch a patrol, and what should happen if nobody can be reached. Businesses often need to change these when opening hours, staffing or site use changes. Check they still reflect how you want activations handled.
Review your internal procedures to ensure your staff respond to alarm activations in a way that aligns with your organisation’s protocols. Everyone on your contact list should know what is expected of them when the monitoring centre calls, including whether they are to attend the site, and who they escalate to if they cannot.
Every person who arms or disarms your system should have their own user code. Remove codes for anyone who no longer needs access, including former staff, tenants, cleaners and contractors. Confirm the remaining codes are still assigned to the right people. For security, please do not send alarm codes by email. Contact our team and we will arrange the change with you.
All administrative and technical aspects of your system are handled by our main office. Use the contact form below, email admin@alltronic.com.au from the email address you have registered with us, or call (07) 3353 3248. Please include your site address so we can locate your account. For an alarm activation, a monitoring query or after-hours support, call our monitoring control room on 1300 652 147, any time.
To help ensure your security systems continue operating reliably, we recommend the following.
Alarm systems, CCTV and integrated security systems should be professionally serviced approximately every 12 months to ensure equipment is operating correctly and to maintain overall system reliability. A service typically includes testing detectors and sirens, checking communication to the monitoring centre, inspecting batteries and power supplies, and confirming cameras and recorders are working as intended.
We recommend a walk test of your alarm system every three months, and after any change to your internet connection or panel. Your panel already sends an automatic test signal to the monitoring centre, which confirms the communication path; a walk test confirms the detectors themselves and that the response chain works end to end. Before testing, call our monitoring control room on 1300 652 147 to place your system on test. Arm the system, trigger each detector in turn, then call the control room again to confirm what was received and take the system off test.
Backup batteries in alarm control panels should generally be replaced every 3 years. Batteries in wireless detectors should also typically be replaced every 3 years. TriTech pet friendly detectors use alkaline batteries and should have these replaced approximately every 2 years. A low battery is one of the most common causes of false alarms and trouble signals.
We recommend periodically checking that cameras are clean, correctly positioned, and that recordings are functioning as expected on your NVR. Spider webs, dust and shifted brackets are the usual culprits when footage is unusable. Also check that everyone who needs access to the camera system has current, working login access, and that access has been removed for anyone who no longer requires it.
Recording retention varies depending on system configuration, storage capacity and activity levels. Periodically confirming that recordings are being stored as expected can help ensure footage is available when required. If you need a longer retention period, additional storage can usually be added.
Remote viewing and system notifications rely on your internet connection. Changes to modems, routers, internet providers or network settings can interrupt remote access even when the system itself is operating normally. If you change any of these, check your app or remote access afterwards and contact us if it is no longer connecting. If your Bosch Solution 6000 connects over WiFi, our guide to changing the WiFi network in the troubleshooting section below walks through reconnecting it.
We recommend periodically reviewing user access permissions to ensure only authorised personnel have entry to your premises. This includes removing credentials for people who have left and confirming access levels remain appropriate. Regular reviews help maintain site security and reduce the risk of unauthorised access. Where systems include battery powered locks or devices, these batteries should also be checked during routine servicing.
We recommend annual testing and servicing of smoke alarms, whether they are standalone units or connected to your alarm system. If your smoke alarms are monitored, you may also wish to confirm with your insurance provider what testing and servicing intervals are required under your policy.

A well-signed property turns a security system into a visible deterrent, warning anyone approaching that the site is protected before they get near a door. We supply window stickers, CCTV signs, small property signs and large core flute warning signs for monitored and alarmed sites.
Signage is part of system care too. Stickers and signs fade in the Queensland sun, and a faded or missing sign does less of its job. Check yours are visible at the approaches people actually use, gates, entries and driveways, and replace any that have faded or peeled. If you need replacement stickers or signs, contact our team and we will arrange them.
Before booking a service call, the guides below cover some of the most common questions we receive.
If your issue isn’t covered, contact our team and we will talk you through it or arrange a technician.
Sites change. Staff numbers grow or shrink, layouts are altered, new entrances open, stock and equipment move, and the risks a system was designed for five years ago may not be the risks it faces today. It is worth stepping back periodically and asking whether your current systems still meet your requirements.
Questions worth asking: Are there areas of the site with no coverage? Has anything changed that a detector or camera no longer sees? Do the people who need to arm, disarm or view the system have the right access? Are you relying on a workaround for something the system should handle?
If you would like to talk through your site’s needs, contact our team. We can review what you have, identify gaps, and recommend changes where they are warranted. Alltronic designs, installs, monitors and services electronic security systems across South East Queensland.
