Changed your internet, swapped your router, or updated your WiFi password? Your Bosch 6000 keypad needs to know about it. Here is exactly how to reconnect it, with a photo for every step.
Look at your keypad screen. If you can see a WiFi symbol on the display, you have the WiFi version of the Bosch 6000 keypad, and this guide is for you.
Grab your master code and WiFi password, find your keypad, and let’s get you back online. Here are the seven steps. Each one has a photo so you can match what you are seeing on your keypad as you go.

SSID is just the technical name for your WiFi network. The scan looks for every WiFi network in range of your keypad.
The screen will show “Scanning in Progress, Please Wait.” Give it up to a minute.
Type in your WiFi password using the keypad, then press OK to save.
The keypad uses a character set similar to an old mobile phone. Press a number key multiple times to cycle through its letters. The full character table is below if you need it.
Press and hold MENU for three seconds. The keypad will return to the home screen.
Confirmation: Look for the WiFi symbol on the keypad display. If it is showing, your alarm is connected to the new network.
If you have followed the steps and your Bosch 6000 WiFi keypad is still not connecting, the cause is usually one of the items below. Work through these troubleshooting steps in order. The most common cause. Easy to mistype on a keypad that uses an old-style mobile phone character set.
What to do Repeat the procedure from Step 1 and re-enter the password carefully. Pay attention to capital letters and special characters.
Bosch 6000 keypads only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi. Most home routers run both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks together, but some newer routers (and most mesh systems) only show one network name and pick the band for you. If your router is set to 5GHz only, the keypad will not see it.
What to do Log in to your router settings or contact your internet provider, and make sure 2.4GHz is enabled.
If your WiFi is set to “hidden” so the name does not broadcast, the keypad cannot find it during the scan.
What to do Temporarily un-hide your network in your router settings, connect your alarm, then hide it again if you want.
WiFi signal weakens with distance and through walls. If your keypad is at the opposite end of the house from the router, the connection may keep dropping.
What to do Try the procedure with the router moved closer if possible, or look at adding a WiFi extender or mesh node near the keypad.
Newer routers can be set to WPA3 security, which the Bosch 6000 keypad does not support.
What to do In your router settings, set the security mode to WPA2 or “WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode.
If your WiFi password contains a character the keypad cannot type (some symbols and accented letters are not on the keypad), the connection will fail.
What to do Check the character table in Step 6. If your password uses something not on the keypad, you will need to change your WiFi password to something the keypad can type.

Most WiFi connection issues on a Bosch 6000 are fixable with the steps above. But sometimes the problem sits deeper in the system, and that is when it is time to bring in a professional. Here is what would make us reach for the toolkit.
You followed the procedure, the keypad connected, and now it keeps losing connection every few hours or days. This usually points to a signal strength issue, router interference, or a hardware fault in the keypad itself. A technician can run diagnostics and confirm what is causing it.
If your keypad is showing a fault code or warning related to the WiFi module, that is a system-level issue. The fault often points to something specific that needs hands-on investigation.
If your current Bosch 6000 has a standard hardwired keypad (no WiFi symbol on the display), upgrading to a WiFi-enabled keypad is a job for a licensed installer. It involves wiring, panel programming, and integration with your monitoring service.

Your Bosch 6000 only needs to be reconnected when something on your network changes. The most common reasons are: you changed internet providers, you replaced your router, you changed your WiFi password, or you moved house and brought the alarm with you. If any of these apply, the steps at the top of this page will get you sorted.
The Bosch Solution 6000 is a common alarm system used across Australian homes and businesses. Most installs use a standard hardwired keypad, but newer setups often include a WiFi-enabled keypad. A WiFi keypad does the same job as a hardwired one for arming and disarming your alarm, but it also connects to your home or business WiFi network. That connection is what lets your alarm communicate with your installer’s monitoring service and the MyAlarm iFob app.
Yes. The procedure above is designed to be done by the homeowner or business owner. You will need your master code, your WiFi network name, and your WiFi password. The whole process takes about five minutes.
You will not be able to access the WiFi settings menu without the master code. If you have lost or forgotten it, your installer can help. They can reset the code for you or assist you onsite if needed.
No. Bosch 6000 keypads only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If your router is set to 5GHz only, you will need to enable 2.4GHz in your router settings before the keypad can connect.
The WiFi settings menu is at MENU 6-1-9. After entering your master code and pressing MENU, type 619 and press OK. This option only appears when the system detects that a WiFi-enabled keypad is connected.
Three common reasons: your network is 5GHz only (the keypad needs 2.4GHz), your network is hidden (the keypad cannot scan hidden networks), or your keypad is too far from the router and out of signal range. The troubleshooting section above covers each of these in detail.
Only the characters on the keypad character set are supported. The character set is similar to an old mobile phone, where letters are accessed by pressing number keys multiple times. If your WiFi password contains a character the keypad cannot type, you will need to change your WiFi password to something the keypad supports.
In most cases, yes. As soon as the keypad reconnects to WiFi, your alarm should resume reporting to your monitoring service. If your monitoring is still not working after reconnecting, contact your installer to check the panel configuration.
The keypad is the physical control panel on your wall. It is how you arm, disarm, and check your alarm status when you are at the property. The Bosch 6000 app, known as the MyAlarm iFob app, does the same things from your phone, so you can control your alarm from anywhere with an internet connection. The keypad’s WiFi connection is what makes the Bosch Solution 6000 app work.
If your keypad is showing a fault code or warning after you reconnect the WiFi, it usually means something deeper than the WiFi connection itself. Common causes are a panel configuration issue, a monitoring communication failure, or a hardware fault on the WiFi module. The troubleshooting section above will help you rule out the simple causes.
