If your Bosch Solution 6000 keypad is showing an icon you don’t recognise, this page is your Bosch 6000 cheat sheet. It covers every status icon, what it means when it is lit, off, or flashing, the meaning of the red and green LED lights, and the small variations between older and newer keypad models.

Plug and cord
When the power icon flashes, your system is drawing from the backup battery. Read about how long an alarm system backup battery lasts so you know when it’s time to replace it.
Fire alarm status
No fire alarm.
A fire alarm is currently active.
Exclamation mark in a triangle
No service or trouble conditions.

Ready to arm
On more recent keypads, the open hand icon appears as a tick symbol. The meaning is the same.
Part On indicator
The area is turned Part On. You are inside the house with the perimeter armed.
When the person is inside the house, this icon shows you are using Part On (perimeter armed, interior detectors bypassed).
All On indicator
The area is turned All On. The whole system is armed and you are outside the house.
The area is not turned All On.
When the person is outside the house, it tells you the whole system is armed.
System disarmed
The open and closed padlock icons work as a pair. When the system is disarmed you see the open padlock.
System armed
The system is armed (All On or Part On).
The closed and open padlock icons work as a pair. When the system is armed it switches to the closed padlock.
Network connection active
Network connection lost
If the Wi-Fi icon has a line through it, your system has lost its connection to the network. Check that your router is powered on and broadcasting. If the issue continues, call us.
The LED lights on your keypad let you see the system status from a distance, before you can read the icons. There are also a few flashing states worth knowing about.
A steady red light means the system is armed.
Green · Steady

Two indicators tell you at a glance. The red LED light combined with the closed padlock icon means the system is armed. The green LED light combined with the open padlock icon means the system is disarmed. From a distance you can use just the light colour. Up close, the padlock icon confirms it. The triangle with an exclamation mark is the service or trouble icon. When it is flashing, the system has detected a fault that has not yet been acknowledged. When it is on steadily, the fault has been acknowledged but may still need to be resolved. When it is off, there are no service conditions to report.
A flashing red LED means an alarm has occurred in a 24-hour zone. That usually means a fire alarm has triggered or a panic button has been activated. This is different from a steady red light, which simply means the system is armed. If you see a flashing red light and you don’t know what caused it, call us before disarming the system.
The service or trouble icon (the triangle with an exclamation mark) flashes when the system has detected a fault. The exact procedure to clear it depends on the cause. Common causes include a low backup battery, a faulty zone, or a power supply issue. For a breakdown of what each fault is, see our guide to trouble messages and what they mean. A beeping keypad usually means the system is signalling a fault. Most often that is a low backup battery, a recent power outage, or a service condition that needs acknowledging. Entering your user code will sometimes silence the beep, but the underlying cause still needs to be addressed. For more detail on the common causes, see why your security alarm system is beeping. There are a few different kinds of “reset” depending on what you are trying to do. Cycling the system off and on can clear an alarm condition. A full panel reset usually requires an installer code and is best done by a technician. If you are trying to reset the system after an alarm activation and are not sure how to proceed, call us.
A Wi-Fi icon with a line or cross through it means the system has lost its connection to your network. The first thing to check is your router. Make sure it is powered on and broadcasting. A quick router restart often fixes it. If the icon stays disconnected after that, give us a call.
The Bosch Solution 6000 is one of the most widely installed residential and commercial alarm systems in Australia. The keypad is designed to give you status information in three ways at once: through the icons on the screen, through the red and green LED lights, and through any text shown on the display. The lights are designed to be readable from a distance. Walking past the keypad, a red light tells you the system is armed and a green light tells you it is disarmed. Once you are close enough to read the icons, you can see the additional detail: which area is armed, whether the system is fully on or part on, and whether there are any service conditions.
The icon meanings are consistent across all Bosch Solution 6000 keypads, regardless of model age. Some icons appear slightly different on newer keypads. The open hand icon, for example, may show as a tick rather than the original hand symbol. The meanings remain the same.
